In my works, I explore the transience of memory and the body through materials such as paraffin, metal, concrete, and stone; their processes of disappearance and rewriting. I construct the language of my productions by focusing on the material's transformative potential and the tensions that arise at the threshold between transience and permanence. In my works, I bring together the traces left by the body and objects, their temporary relationships with space, and the layers of meaning created by contrasting materials; through these encounters, I create new narratives without excluding the inherent meanings of the materials themselves.
The work questions the transience of existence and the relationship between loss and transformation through the language of the materials themselves. Paraffin sits on the metal like a second skin: it seems to belong to it yet liable to detach at any moment. This fleeting contact evokes the body's nature, which disappears and transforms over time. While paraffin is sensitive to physical effects such as heat, contact, and gravity, metal is neutral and stable. The relationship between these two materials reveals the tension between the skin and the supporting surface. This contact carries the potential for both preservation and erasure.
