DESCRIPTION

Born in Istanbul in 2003. She studied miniature major and tile and ceramics minor at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University's Department of Traditional Turkish Arts. In addition to her traditional art education, she also received various training in technical drawing.
In her works, she uses the spiral form as a basis and depicts man's inner journey, transformation and search for self in a symbolic language. The spiral occupies a central place in her art as an element that both establishes the visual structure and nourishes the conceptual plane. By combining traditional miniature technique with contemporary narratives, she establishes a symbolic connection between the inner and outer worlds.

In the Shadow of the Dragon is an allegorical narrative symbolizing the individual's effort to reach their own self. The figure in the work sets out only for herself after years of a life shaped by the expectations of others. Along the way, several human figures follow the figure; however, he ignores their existence and continues on his inner journey.

The dragon he encounters at the end of the road represents his fears, the identities imposed by society, and his inner conflicts. In the moments when he considers turning back, he realizes the distance he has come and continues to face the dragon with courage. The true transformation begins when he chooses to understand it instead of fighting it. When he reaches the castle—that is, his own essence—he realizes that the true home is the person himself.

This miniature depicts the struggle between external pressures and inner freedom and the journey of reaching one's own self.
