Zeynep Baloğlu (25) was born in Ankara. She completed her high school education in the Painting department of Ankara
Fine Arts High School. She completed her BA in Painting at Hacettepe
University, Faculty of Fine Arts. She is currently doing her MA with a thesis in the Painting Department at Hacettepe University, Institute of Fine Arts. She has participated in exhibitions in various galleries such as Zilberman, Cermodern and Barınhan.
All of my works include subjects such as nudity, purification and the uncanny.
My latest works develop within the framework of the concept of the uncanny. An object can go beyond its accustomed state of being seen through distortion, with the help of atmosphere, with dramatic light or with the objects it is associated with. If a form loses its formal
clarity, it becomes undefined. A negative concept such as the uncanny owes its existence to the uncanny. By taking advantage of contrasts and pushing the boundaries of the concepts of defined and undefined, I shape my art practice on images and forms that create the uncanny.
