Nur Özel (1995, İzmir) graduated from the Ceramics and Glass Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. During her undergraduate studies, she experienced hot glass techniques with artists in important glass art centers such as Prague, New York, and Beykoz; she also participated in gallery and exhibition processes. The artist continues her production and teaching activities in her studio in Istanbul with different materials such as glass, clay, and paint.

Her art practice is shaped around the concept of duality, focusing on the tensions between aesthetics and violence, softness and sharpness, transparency and opacity. She considers her works produced with glass and ceramics as part of a thought process that explores the dual nature of life and the two aspects of the mind.
