Dove and Dove / and a Dove

These two paintings represent a state suspended between togetherness and solitude. The transition between two bodies leaning against each other and the single body remaining points not so much to a contrast between life and death, but to a threshold. Here, the threshold is not a moment of rupture; it is the dissolution of contact and its evolution into another state.

In this context, the dove figure appears not as a symbolic narrative, but as a carrier of memory. While in the state of togetherness, contact, weight, and closeness are emphasized; in the single body, silence, remaining behind, and the feeling of being suspended intensify. When the two works are read together, the viewer encounters not an ending, but a state of togetherness.

The concepts of uncanny and threshold, also evident in the artist's previous works, regain visibility in this dualistic order through the alienation of the familiar. Here, the threshold appears not as a completed transition, but as a state of existence left exposed.
