Diameter: 100 cm 2023
About The Work
In the series, where he interprets the traditional understanding of Islamic art decoration in a contemporary language, he emphasizes the relationship between mathematical order and geometry. His compositions, in which a single motif repeats itself on the canvas, are far from the understanding of perspective. Having developed a unique painting technique, Yalçındağ questions the concept of two-dimensionality connected to the familiar motifs of Islamic art with an understanding of composition that can be positioned within European-American painting.
