About The Work
Du Pre is inspired by the scientific confrontation between the clarity of general relativity and the ambiguity of quantum mechanics in the Space/Time series, while on the other hand, it leads us to Deconstruct the nature of everything we observe. In one, everything is obvious, while in the other uncertainty prevails. In one, time is fluid, while in the other it surrenders to being defined in singular moments. In one there is a journey from the part to the whole, while in the other it consists of particles with no apparent continuity.
In the portraits in the series, we encounter images of fractures in temporary moments. In these portraits, she touches on the nature of individual identity and how it is encoded to decrypt female beauty and success. On the other hand, it also reminds us that they are part of the unstoppable struggle of existence.
