DESCRIPTION

Born in Afyonkarahisar in 2003, he spent his childhood and youth in Izmir before completing his four-year undergraduate degree in the Painting Department of Afyon Kocatepe University's Faculty of Fine Arts. His works have been exhibited in various group exhibitions nationwide. The artist explores concepts such as family history, personal memories, and the flow of time. He draws inspiration from old photographs, memories etched in memory, and images of situations chosen from daily life. He creates his works using sepia and black-and-white tones to enhance emotional depth and capture the nostalgic atmosphere of the past. Çelebi aims to revive memories that have been eroded by time but retain their meaning, and he continues to produce in this vein.

"Memory of Steps" presents a profound narrative that explores the traces and vitality of personal memories. The boat figures at the center of the work appear as a reflection of an emotional image etched in the artist's mind from the animations and films he watched during his childhood. This image transcends the mere object, imbuing the figure with a layer of personal meaning. The sepia and brown color palette used in the work not only provides a figurative narrative but also evokes the past, creating a nostalgic atmosphere. The white tulle fabric delicately wrapped around the boots symbolizes time itself; the fluid movement of the fabric represents time's progression into the future and the traces left by the past. "Memory of Steps" is not merely a visual depiction; it exists as a field of expression that reflects a recorded emotional state, the spirit of the times, and the freshness of memories etched in the artist's mind.
