DESCRIPTION

Derya Sevil was born in Van in 2001. She is a senior at Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University. The works she has produced throughout her university career demonstrate her creativity and dedication to her work.

This work intentionally blurs the body's recognizability through pixelation, while simultaneously evoking an abstraction that makes its presence felt more strongly and intensely. Through pixelation, the figure both loses its tangible boundaries and evokes a sense of presence in the viewer; the process of dissolution and reconstruction becomes simultaneously observable. Different shades of red highlight not only the figure's physical movement but also its inner tension and dynamism; each tone adds a layer of rhythm and emotional intensity, making visible both the figure's dissolution and its reconstruction.

This approach invites the viewer to engage not only with the body's superficial forms but also with its energy, movement, and sensory intensity. The ambiguity afforded by pixelation transcends the figure's concrete form, creating an imaginative experience in the viewer; The viewer is forced to complete their own perception through gaps and blurred areas. Thus, the work offers not only a visual resolution but also a psychological intensity and a layered emotional interaction. At the same time, the shades of red make visible the figure's internal tempo, tension, and sudden pauses. Each pixel seems to bear the trace of a movement, a breath, or an emotional outburst, giving the work both a rhythmic and dramatic structure. Ultimately, this work transforms the pixel from a simple visual tool into a form of expression that deeply evokes both the physical and emotional presence of the body.
