EXHIBITION: Anadolu'dan İzlenimler 5. Dönem

DESCRIPTION

Born in 2003, Hatice Orul completed her undergraduate studies at Afyon Kocatepe University's Faculty of Fine Arts. Continuing her search for depth in art, Orul is currently pursuing her master's degree at Ankara Hacettepe University.

The close connection she established with nature in her early works is striking; she makes the cycle of life and death visible through tree bark, fish images, and the fragile textures of everyday objects. Over time, this relationship has evolved into a more rigid one; transparent materials, images of natural destruction, and destruction have become prominent in the artist's work. Orul's later works, however, shed their previous intensity and turn to a more abstract, simpler language. This approach, which thins the shell of the visible and listens to the vibration of an inner essence, suggests that the artist is undergoing a transformation not just of form but of thought.

Orul traces a quiet yet determined path in her works; she marks the line extending from the fragility of nature to the inner resonances of humanity, sometimes with an almost invisible brushstroke.

1. Text of Work (Touch)

A brush trapped within a plastic sheet becomes a silent trace of a human hand directed toward nature. The fragile trunk of the branch and the artificial sheen of the transparent material juxtapose, revealing the mixed feelings of protection, suffocation, and intervention. The work calmly hints at the uneasiness that lies beyond the visible.

2. Text of Work (Freedom Cage)

A plastic bag, caught on bare branches, is like an artificial shell caught in a momentary pause in the wind. This presence, which does not align with natural lines, simultaneously conveys both transience and a permanent intervention. The work casts a subtle human trace into the tranquility of the sky.
