Project Text:
Puppet Theater, 2024-Ongoing
He creates a narrative of liberation by investigating the power dynamics of the individual through the metaphor of the puppet and the puppeteer through his self-portraits. These metaphors reflect the individual’s volatile relationship between authority and obedience, as both a controlling and controlled entity. Sometimes the strings of the puppet are in the hands of the individual, while sometimes these strings are under the control of someone else. In this uncertain area, a stage is set up for the individual to redefine his/her own authority and seek possibilities for liberation. While the works, constructed in a symbolic and sometimes expressive style, invite the viewer to think about the concepts of power, control and freedom, “Puppet Theater” aims to create a space where authority is flexible and freedom can be redefined.
