EXHIBITION: Impressions from Anatolia III. and IV. Period Exhibition / IMM Bakırköy Art

DESCRIPTION

Dry Paint On Paper

Dimensions : 35x50 cm

Although the work seems to present an object from dead nature to the viewer at first glance, it actually represents contexts that are more than that. Their skins, worn and worn with dust, are presented as a silent testimony of a journey and a life full of struggle, with their soles bearing the marks of thousands of steps. With its worn textures and details, memories and experiences of the past are revealed in front of the eyes. At the same time, the change on it symbolizes life, the inner journey. With this work, the artist drags the subject, who is connected with the production of art, into the depths carried by the object, while at the same time presenting it as a metaphor that questions existence itself. The lace that is missing in the boot image in the foreground represents a piece that has been lost or not completed in life. Metaphorically, these shortcomings are a hidden symbol as a representation of the losses that a person faces in the journey of life, unfinished stories, a rupture and perhaps a dissolution. At the same time, the “bot” image, which expresses that it is a part of life in its shortcomings, emphasizes existence despite this deficiency, the continuity of life and the power of change in this process.
