Those Who Remain In The Shadows

The pressures of the modern world and deepening social injustices condemn a segment of society to invisibility and lack of identity. Especially the lives trapped in the countryside, while struggling in the grip of economic inequalities, become victims of an order in which labor is devalued. These individuals fade away in the social memory and turn into forgotten figures.Society draws narrow roles and boundaries in front of individuals. The stories of people trapped within these boundaries become worthless over time, forgotten and face extinction. The modern world turns individuals into anonymous shadows that only serve the functioning of the system. This process of de-identification erases not only the existence of individuals, but also their struggles, stories and human values. I aimed to shed light on the unseen stories of individuals trapped in the countryside, whose labor has been devalued and whose identity has been ignored. With this study, I wanted to reveal how individuals are stuck with social roles and how they are deprived of their freedom to express their identity due to the boundaries imposed by the modern world.
