Fatih Simsek;
he was born in Bartın in 1992.He completed his secondary school and high school education in Bartın and entered the painting department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 2010.She participated in other Art activities along with intra-school and extracurricular exhibitions.she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Poland, with the student exchange program of 2014-2015.she graduated from Yalçın Karaağız atoll in the spring semester of 2016. She is doing live modeling at Kocaeli Faculty of Fine Arts.
Artwork Statement:
This work presents a multi-layered narrative that questions the relationship between surface and figure. The wall-like textures are shaped with silicone and spatula, evoking a worn, partially peeled surface that appears to have weathered over time. This physical texture functions not merely as a background but as an emotional layer that carries the psychological weight of the painting.
Although the figures at the center appear as a group, each one displays a withdrawn posture, immersed in their own internal world. The space offered to the viewer invites contemplation on time, memory, and the state of individuality, amplified by the material’s density and weight.
Serving simultaneously as a stage and an interior space, this work aims to create a quiet zone in which the viewer may encounter their own inner reverberations.
