497. ART MEETING

As part of our 497th Art Meeting, we are visiting pianist Burçin Büke.


Burçin Büke was born in Izmir in 1966. He took his first piano lessons from his father, who was a pianist. He started working with Ali Ersümer from the age of six and gave his first concert when he was only 10 years old. In 1977, when he was 11 years old, he passed the "Wonderful Child" exam. As a result of this exam, Prof. Piano with Mithat Fenmen, Prof. He started theory and composition studies with İlhan Baran.

He represented Turkey at the Sofia Music Festival in 1979. In 1982, he completed the 11-year high school of Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory in 5.5 years. Then, with the state scholarship he won, he continued his education at the Music Academy in Hannover, Germany. Between 1984 and 1989, he participated in the Hannover New Music Festivals as a soloist and chamber musician. In 1992, he successfully completed the soloist exam of the Hanover Academy of Music.
