At the 437th Art Meeting, we visit the artist Gülçin Aksoy. Gülçin Aksoy, who has been actively producing art since the early 1990s, has been involved in many artistic actions as a collective as well as her individual production.
In 2023, she realized her exhibition 'The Order of Compassion' at Merdiven Art Space. In 2019, she took part in the exhibition 'Wednesday Community' curated by Shulamit Bruchtein at Artam Gallery. In the same year, she realized the solo exhibition titled 'Moving Text / High Art Board' at Pasajist. She was one of the participants and exhibition planners of the building exhibition 'Our Departure will be Magnificent'. In 2018, she was in Berlin with the DAAD artist and academic scholarship. In 2018, she realized her solo exhibition titled 'Choir' at the Greek School, in 2017 she realized two simultaneous solo exhibitions titled 'A' at Zilberman Gallery and 'The Family Cemetery I Love' at Thursday Market. In 2014, she realized her solo exhibition 'Double Story' at Depo, which included fictional arrangements about the artist's life. He realized his first solo exhibition in 1991.
Since 1993, the artist, who has been working as a faculty member at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting and conducting the 'Carpet Workshop', positions his artistic production on learning and producing together, without separating his identity as an educator. One of his projects, 'Learning Project', which includes this process and which he realized with his students, was exhibited at the 'Academiae Youth Art Bienale' in Boozen, Italy. The Atılkunst collective, which was part of the Carpet Workshop process, was one of the models of co-production.
Some of the other art events he has participated in are; 'Mobilising Memory,' Vienna, 4th Çanakkale Biennial, 'Trading Station' Liverpool, 1st Klohausen Biennial Munich, 'City Scale' Munich- Istanbul, 'I. Istanbul pedestrian exhibitions', '60 years 60 artists', and exhibitions such as 'Domestic Goods', 'Family Confined', 'Voices from Abroad', in which he was part of the exhibition founding team.
