Art Meeting 429

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of our Republic, we are visiting the exhibition titled “Long Live the Republic! The First Steps of Economic Independence in the Atatürk Era”, which opened simultaneously at the İşbank Museum in Istanbul and the Economic Independence Museum in Ankara. You can be a part of the exhibition with photographs, postcards, documents and objects reflecting the production and social life of Atatürk's era, commemorative objects such as medallions, badges or samples of domestic goods produced in our country at that time. The exhibition is inspired by Atatürk's quote “No matter how great political and military victories are, if they are not crowned with economic victory, the result cannot be permanent”. The exhibition focuses on the development of economic and social life in the early years of the Republic.

The exhibition is curated by Dr. Murat Koraltürk, a faculty member of Marmara University Faculty of Economics, who is known for his studies on the economic and social history of Turkey in the 19th and 20th centuries, the history of commercial maritime and maritime business, and the history of corporations and entrepreneurship. Member Murat Koraltürk is in charge.
