In our 428th Art Meeting, we get to know the artist Ayça Telgeren. Ayça Telgeren was born in 1975 in Gölcük, Kocaeli. She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at Mimar Sinan University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting. The artist uses different means of expression in her works, from drawing to video, sculpture to installation. In his works, Telgeren traces issues such as the memory of touch, inarticulate transmission, and belonging from personal experience to collective emotions. Since 2017, she has been a member of the artist collective HAH.
In addition to solo exhibitions at Galerist Istanbul (2020, 2015, 2013 and 2011), the artist has exhibited at Zeyrek Tiled Bath, Istanbul (2023); Leros, Greece (2023); Volissos Bakkalikoya, Xios (2023), Erimtan Museum, Ankara (2022); Meşher, Istanbul (2022); Dirimart, Istanbul (2021); Barın Han, Istanbul (2021); Müze Evliyagil, Ankara (2020); Mixer, Istanbul (2020); British Council, Istanbul (2020) and Odunpazarı Modern Museum, Eskişehir (2019).
We will meet with Ayça Telgeren at Istanbul Modern since she does not have an active studio. Telgeren will share with us both her works at Istanbul Modern and her artistic journey. If you wish, you can have a free tour of Istanbul Modern after our artist talk.
