Art Meeting 419

In our 419th art meeting, we visit the studio of artist İpek Ergen. Born in Istanbul in 1984, İpek Ergen graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of Painting. She completed her master's degree in art and design and her doctorate in art science. In 2009, she won the “Young Painter of the Year” award. She has participated in solo exhibitions as well as art fairs and international group exhibitions in the USA, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Turkey, and since 2016 she has continued her work as an art consultant in Germany.

In addition to working mainly with airbrush, acrylic, ink and neon paints, she also integrates different materials such as gold dust, resin and plexiglass into her works. His inspirations range from the animal world to human psychology, pop surrealism, street art, contemporary Japanese art and otaku culture. Her main focus is on the human figure and she uses animal figures as symbols of human behavior. His treatment of his subjects ranges from daydreams to wonderland-like stories.
