Art Meeting 410

In our 410th art meeting, we visit the workshop of sculptor Kadriye İnal. Inal combines images of people she chooses from daily life with fictional characters. In addition to the strong spatial effect of three dimensions in her sculptures, she uses the color and stain values of the patch-work technique in the second dimension. In a sense, this allows her to create anonymized, intermediate characters. Most of the works she has produced so far consist of female characters and children.

In his works, the artist deals with the problems of human existence such as freedom, identity and self within a social, cultural and psycho-social framework. In addition to using an interdisciplinary language in his traditional figurative sculpture practice, which he adopts as a means of individual expression, he continues his production through a single material in which he experiences its limits.
